And the Oscar goes too . . .

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE!!! So why in the world was anyone but all those involved in Slumdog Millionaire, invited to the Oscars? They took home 8 golden, almost anatomically correct, Oscars! I haven't seen this movie yet but I guess I should. Sounds like the Academy enjoyed it.
Then, how about Jennifer Aniston with Jack Black. I was uncomfortable watching her. I can't imagine how she must have felt with her ex-husband and his baby loving wife in all of her perfectness right there in the front row. Not to mention she really didn't do that great of a job being Miss. Comedy with Jack Black. It was just weird.
Weirdness and all aside, I do have to say that I was pretty impressed with the set design for the show. I loved the vintage feel of it. I was pretty impressed with the idea of 5 Oscar winning presenters coming out all at the same time too. That was a nice and creative touch. Kudos to Ben Stiller for making fun of Juaquin Phoenix MC as well. Someone needs to wake that crazy guy out of his rap-tastic sleep. Now, I don't care what you think of me, I thought Hugh Jackman had a great opening number. It was hysterical watching him try not to laugh through the whole thing. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm glad to see Heath Ledger get recognized for his work as the Joker too. From what I have read, that was a particularly hard role for him to play. He lost sleep a lot and was tortured by the mind that he had to create to play the character. I thought he was flawless and oh so worthy of the Oscar.
Mr. Robert Pattinson made an appearance too! I have to say that surprised me. Just a year ago the guy was sort of a lost actor and then suddenly he is catapulted into fame from one movie and is a presenter at the Oscars. Last, I have to say that one of my favorite moments was when Will Smith was presenting. He said something about Brad Pitt being a garden gnome. I don't know why but I thought it was hysterical! So, I think the Oscars had a great night. I could have done without Sean Penn on his soap box, (although I do like him), but all in all, for the first time since I've started watching this movie extravaganza, I really enjoyed it.
