Downtown Franklin and Naticakes

Last weekend Mark and I took a little photo stroll in downtown Franklin. I wanted to get some night shots and just enjoy the atmosphere. We came across a little cupcake shop called Naticakes. Not only do they have delicious cupcakes, but 10% of the proceeds go the the Natalie Wynn Carter Foundation. You can read more about it here. So if you are ever in downtown Franklin, stop in and grab one of their chocolate caramel cupcakes with sea salt. I know it sounds a little weird but it is soooo delicious and there is no guilt seeing that you have just donated to a very good cause.

Patch to Fest

Oktober Fest!! I went with my brother and sister-in-law, and my two adorable nieces to take pictures this last weekend. It was that time of year for their fall photos. Although is was a scorching, humid 85degrees and they were dressed in tights and long sleeved dressed, complaining about it being hot, I managed to still get some pretty decent shots. We went to a pumpkin patch first. I've never been to one before. It was pretty amazing. When you drive up, all you see in a huge field of orange and green. You go a bit farther and they have tents and play areas set up with every type of pumpkin imaginable. It was really beautiful. I would have love to have stayed a bit longer but we were all sweating balls and ready to go downtown to Oktober Fest to grab a beer (yes, Zoe and Lily wanted a beer too) and gyro, and see some pretty amazing stuff.
The festival was super packed but lots of fun all the same. There were tents lining the street with all sorts of hand made goods and delicious food, great music and mouth watering beer. The girls rode a pony for a bit, ate some flavored ice turning their mouths bright blue and red, downed some popcorn and had a great time. While were were sitting eating I saw an interesting guy playing the accordion. His name was Nermin, from Bosnia and he was not the least bit camera shy. As we were leaving I ran across a tent of adorable screen printed onesies and toddler tees. To my surprise the people in the tent were friends of mine that I play ball with. I had no idea that he and his wife created such adorable eye catching clothes fort tots. You can check him out here. So I will leave you with a few of my favorite pics from the day. Enjoy.
